Wipro, Megasoft and other 3 companies are banned by World Bank

World Bank barred Wipro, Megasoft and other 3 companies for four years from receiving direct contracts from the Bank under its corporate procurement program.

WB stated that they are ineligible to receive contracts from the World Bank and Megasoft Ltd, have also been barred for four years since 2007.

A R Rahman: First Indian to win Golden Globe Award

As the said in the previous post about the Golden Globe Award for Slumdog Millionaire. A R Rahman became the First Indian to Win Prestigious Golden Globe Award and he mentioned that it is dedicated to "billion people of India". He won the Prize for music score 'Jai Ho' in the film added to this he thanked director and his fellow musicians.

"Unbelievable..! I thought, I would not win, so anyways thanks to the almighty God for bringing me here... Danny Boyle, Fox pictures, all my musicians in Chennai, Mumbai,... and the billion people from India," he said while accepting the award.

Slumdog bagged 5 Awards, Critics Choice Awards 2009

Slumdog Millionaire,a film which was made on a small budget on Novel based on Q & A by Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup bagged the Prestigious award Broadcast Film Critics Association's 14th annual Critics Choice Awards 2009.

In this Award Music Mastero A R Rahman got Best Composer Award, Best Film, Best Director for Danny Boyle, Best Writer for Simon Beaufoy and Best Young Actor for Dev Patel, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Satyam Founder might face 10-yr jail

As Satyam Computer's Founder and Chairman Ramalinga Raju who has claimed himself for the fraud of Rs. 7000 crore and gave statement that no other Board Member and Senior Executive is aware of the fraud, Raju and any other director/executive found to be involved in the scam are liable to be prosecuted on charges punishable with imprisonment up to 10 years.

The Below might be the serious penalities that Raju might face under various Laws:

* Section 23 of the securities contract regulation Act 1956, that imposes a penalty of imprisonment up to 10 years and fine up to Rs 25 crore and more sections.

Satyam : Fraud of over Rs 7,000 crore

Satyam, means truth but Ramalinga Raju promoter-chairman of Hyderabad-headquartered Satyam Computers, has lied for years to shareholders, employees at large by making a fraud of Rs 7,000 Crore.

TCS, Infosys, Wipro and country's fourth largest IT company was Satyam, by making the fraud satyam computers is knocked to the bottom and which inturn resulted to be removed from its S&P CNX Nifty 50-share index from January 12, as the Satyam Founder resigned from Board the shares of crashed down to 80 percent. And Anil Ambani-group firm Reliance Capital Ltd will be replacing Satyam in the main index, the exchange said in a statement. Satyam will also be excluded from the CNX 100 index, CNX 500 index and the CNX IT index.

Pietersen resigns as England Captain - Sky News

Kevin Pietersen of England has resigns as Captain due to broke down relationship with Team Coach Peter Moores on Wednesday.

"This situation is not healthy, we have to make sure it is settled as soon as possible and certainly before we fly off to the West Indies. Everybody has to have the same aims and pull in the same direction for the good of the England team", said Pietersen.

He was appointed Captain in August after Michael Vaughan resigned.

Founder and Chariman of Satyam Resigns

India's Fourth Largest IT company Satyam Founder and Chairman Ramalinga Raju has resigned from the Board. Raju has put in his papers and is waiting for the Board's decision.

As Satyam was in news previously in Maytas deal and at last Raju has written a letter to the board giving details of how the balance sheet has inflated cash balances of Rs 5040 crore and accrued interest of Rs 376 crore is non-existent. Rs 1230 crore was arranged to Satyam and is not reflected in the books.

Terror on first day of 2009: 5 killed, 67 injured in Guwahati

Terrorists Started attacking from the 1st day of the Year 2009. A Serial Bomb Blasts in Assam in Guwahati which taken 5 lifes and 67 injured in this attacks, these attacks are suspected by Ulfa militants

This was happened before the Home Minister P Chidambaram who had to visit the state regarding law and law and order situation and after the blast Home Minister was escorted to Raj Bhawan from the airport under heavy security, past one of the blast sites.

Total 3 Blasts were held, One at near Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi TB Hospital at Birubari at 2.35pm, second one at busy Bhootnath market near the famed Kamakhya Temple and last one Bhangaghar, one of the poshest areas in Guwahati, at 5.45pm

In these 3 blasts total 5killed and 37 injured

Five persons killed in Pakistan in a Suspected US missile

A Suspected US missile had striked in Pakistan and killed about 5 persons on Thursday. This was happened when US drones carried out a fresh missile strike in Pakistan's troubled South Waziristan tribal region, known to be a stronghold of Taliban and al-Qaida terrorists.

The drone fired three missiles at Karikot village in South Waziristan, official sources were quoted as saying by TV channels.
