Binalakshmi Awarded with CNN-IBN Real Heroes Award

Recently CNN-IBN and Reliance Industries awarded Real Heroes for the year 2011 held at Mumbai on 17th of August 2011. At about 24 women and men from all the regions of India were awarded in refernce to their incredible contribution towards different fields of their work.

Binalakshmi Nepram, Secretary to Control Arms Foundation of India (CAFI) and Founder Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network was awarded with Real Hero of 2011 in the category of Women's Welfare Service. She was awarded with this because of her work towards empowering hundreds of women survivors of gun violence in conflict torn Manipur.

This Award was recieved by the arms of Legendary Singer "Asha Bhonsle" and President of Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation.

She dedicated this award to the thousands of women survivors in Manipur and Northeast India.

Writer and columnist, Shobhaa De said, "There is a need to introspect the definition of a hero. In a world that is full of card board superstars, there are people who keep India what it is. These are moments touch your lives. Our salaam!"

4.5 Earth Quake Rocked Delhi

Capital City Delhi is experiencing continous shocks. A huge tremor for about 5 to 6 seconds measuring 4.5 on Ritcher scale rocked delhi in night at around 11.30 pm

50 injured and 9 killed: Delhi Blasts

As per the sources, explosives were kept under a brief case and went off. Blasts were took around 10.15am near Gate No.4 and 5 where 100 to 200 people were waiting in queue to get their passes to entire premisis of Delhi High Court.

Union Home Secretary R K Singh said that "“it had all the makings of an Improvised Explosive Device(IED) set up by a terror group.”

Explosion near Delhi High Court Premises: 24 Injured

A blast took place near Delhi High Court today morning injuring about 24 people. Explosion took place outside Gate No.5 as about 150 to 200 people were standing in a queue to get gate passes entering into the Delhi High Court.

According to the Sources 24 people were injured and at least four were killed in this explosion
