Indian Moon mission Chandrayaan-1 Sends 40,000 images in 75 days

Chandrayaan-1, beams back 40,000 images in 75 days which is great achievement for ISRO. Chandrayaan-1 was launched on Oct 22, 08 it has sent about 40,000 images in 75 days, it means is sending nearly 535 images daily, ISRO believe is quite a record compared to the lunar flights of other nations.

These Images were first transmitted to Indian Deep Space Network at Byalalu near Bangalore, from where they are flashed to ISRO's telemetry, tracking and command network at Bangalore.

Chandrayaan-I found Iron minerals on the Lunar Surface

A Mission to Moon by India - Chandrayaan-1 found a mine filed on the moon. The Images of the Chandrayaan-1 shows that the abundance Iron bearings minerals in the Lunar Surface, Innitial Reports suggested.

M3 (Moon Mineralogy Mapper) a Instrument by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)has beamed back images of the Orientale Basin on the western limb of the moon.

A Senior Scientist of US-based Brown University and Principal Investigator for the M3 experiment, Carle Pieters has done analysis of the Images which indicates the abundance of iron-bearing minerals such as pyroxene.

India's first unmanned Chandrayaan-1 mission lifts off for the moon

We are really proud of our scientists who made truly a historic moment for the entire country. India's first unmanned moon spacecraft Chandrayaan-1 was successfully lifts off for the moon into initial orbit from Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Wednesday Morning at 6:40am.
