Rather than rely on superficial popularity metrics, Cuil searches for and ranks pages based on their content and relevance. Cuil searches the Web for pages with the keywords and then analyze the rest of the text on those pages.
Google is facing stiff competition from the search engines line cuil, searchme, and powerset that redefines the way user searches the web.Powerset(www.powerset.com) launched in may, 2008 is another search engine that restricts its searches to wikis, and searchme is a visual based search engine.
